Here to help
We are making Mapp, our remote working platform, free for 6 months, creating a £500k fund and expediting delivery times.
We want to help teams of every size and shape accelerate their remote working solutions during the current crisis.
How we can help:
Assurance during lockdown
The Cabinet Office’s ‘Procurement Policy Note - COVID-19’ prioritises a smooth restart of infrastructure projects following lockdown. We’re working with Asset Owners and General Contractors to capture snapshots of their site throughout the period of lockdown to ensure assurance and security of both works and equipment.
Remote teams at Morgan Sindall and VolkerFitzpatrick working on the Barking Riverside development are already accessing up-to-date data of their site remotely.
Collaboration when not together
Asset Owners, Engineering Consultancies and General Contractors are using Mapp to track and visualise sites remotely. Because it is a cloud based platform accessible from any device, Mapp is providing vital collaboration and information exchange where existing systems have been stretched.
Berkeley Homes are using Mapp to prevent information silos and work more efficiently during the COVID-19 crisis.
Ensuring health and safety
The Construction Leadership Council (CLC) official guidance emphasises the need for safe and secure lockdown of sites. Without people on site, small issues are becoming big problems.
Engineering Consultancies such as WSP are using Mapp to remove workers from hazardous areas and minimise time spent on site. Mapp’s powerful functionality allows teams to remotely resolve complex surveying measurements such as height, area and volumetrics.
Ongoing monitoring for continuity
The Construction Leadership Council (CLC) official guidance recommends periodic monitoring of sites. Where a site is near a river, estuary or coast, companies are actively encouraged to put in place remote monitoring arrangements.
Sensat offers a simple and transparent way to monitor progress on construction sites remotely. Drones quickly survey sites to engineering grade quality without the need for boots on the ground.
Remote teams at Osborne working on the A46 in Coventry are already gaining insights into the progress of their project without having to send any workers on site.
Limiting insurance liability
The current lockdown creates inherent future uncertainty. Having an accurate record of the project at the time of lockdown provides a golden record of works status in case teams are faced with insurance claims resulting from the impact of COVID-19.
