Features

Discover the power of Mapp®'s features 

To interact with the map, use the toolbox on the left-hand side of the screen. Here, you will be able to take measurements and add annotations.

When you create a new annotation or measurement, it will appear in the feature panel on the right-hand side of the screen. Click the button in the bottom right corner to open the panel.

You are able to expand or remove items in the feature panel; it is also possible to filter the list by time created or author.

 
 

Point

 

Use to find the coordinates (x,y) and elevation (z) of a specific point. 

 

Click any location in the point cloud to obtain your coordinates.

Line

 

Use to measure linear distance between two points. 

 

Click to define the starting point, and click again to define the end. 

Area


Use to measure an area.

 

Click to create the polygon vertices, double-click to close the area. It’s also possible to hit enter, or to click on the first point to close the polygon. Hit the escape key to cancel a measurement.

Cut and Fill


Use to measure the volume above and below a surface that approximates the ground level.

 

Click to define a polygon around the area you wish to find out the volume of. It is advised to zoom in and carefully click on the points at the bottom of the pile to get an accurate measurement. Double click the last point to close the area, or hit the escape key to cancel the measurement. When you close the polygon, a menu will appear on the right of the screen containing the cut & fill measurements. You can drag and drop each point you have placed to make precise adjustments.

Height

 

Use to measure the elevation difference between two points.

 

Click to define the starting point, and click again to define the end.

Height Profile

 

Use to measure the elevation profile between two points.

 

Click to define the starting point, and click again to define the end. This profile can be viewed in the feature panel, and exported as .CSV file if required.

Snapshot

 

Use the snapshot tool to take a screenshot of the current screen.

 

The snapshots are available in the file manager. To access the file manager click on the general menu in the top left corner.

Annotation

Use to add a note, web link, or attachment to a specific point on the map.

 

Click on a location that you would like to annotate. This opens up a form that allows you to add a description to the annotation, as well as attach a link or external file. Your annotation is saved automatically.

 

The File Manager gives you access to various data files.

 

1. To access the File Manager click on the general menu in the top left corner.

2. From the menu select “File Manager”. 

3. This opens up an interface showing all your files organised by type. Clicking any file will initiate automatic download.
