What is your job at SenSat?

Designer.

What are you most looking forward to in your role?

Bringing my experience and passion for all things design and applying them to this new role within SenSat.

Why did you join SenSat?

I like to challenge myself and take my skills to industries that I haven't worked in previously. I have also always loved working in a startup environment where you can watch a company grow and have a real impact on its development.

What are the latest trends in graphic design according to you?

The main trend I have noticed is content-focused design. Letting the content speak for itself with uncluttered layouts. Another trend I have noticed is the experimental use of typography. Typography is essential to a graphic designer but its creative use has now become a staple in everything from interior design to fashion.

What has been your favourite innovation in graphic design? Why do you love it?

It has to be the software we use now. It allows for much more creativity and experimental ideas. For example, Sketch allows designers to effectively create pixel-perfect designs for the web but more importantly, it allows us to collaborate more easily with website developers.

Tell us about a company you think is absolutely nailing their marketing and branding - what can we learn from them?

Companies have become more design-focused ever since the likes of Apple showed other brands how important it can be for success. Tech companies and sports brands have been smashing it lately. Spotify, Google, Nike and Adidas all have exciting, innovative and well-executed brand and marketing designs. The reason their design is so successful is that their design esthetic reflects their internal culture, tone of voice, innovations and brand aspirations.

What’s your favourite font?

Gotham - It’s my go to sans serif.

What country are you from?

The United Kingdom.

What are your interests outside of work?

Photography, Modern Art, Interior Design and Travel.

If you could have a billboard in London that thousands of people were going to see, what would you put on it and why?

I would have it covered in a paper that chemically reacted to pollution to show how polluted London’s air is.

What are some things that everyone should try at least once?

Sushi (I only tried this for the first time last week).

If you could travel back to any one point in time, what would it be and why?

What's the fun in going to the past? The future is what I would want to see.
