What is your job at SenSat?

UAS Pilot (Assistant Engineer in the Operations team).

How did you get into what you do?

Similar to how I get into almost everything I do - with curiosity and a bit of luck. I graduated with a bachelor's degree in Multimedia and Arts Technology and knew I wanted to go into the tech industry. I started off with a 6 months internship position at SenSat which then developed into a full-time operations role.

What’s your favourite thing about your job?

Primarily the drone flying part - especially in the summer when I get to enjoy the sunshine outside the confines of an office. But also, I enjoy the responsibilities I am able to take on as a Remote Pilot. To manage my own project from start to finish and be involved with everything from client exposure to understanding data outputs to air safety.

Why did you join SenSat?

I was looking for a company that was fast-paced, driven and innovative, with a positive environment and promising job progression. Fresh out of university and hungry for a challenge, I felt like that would be the ideal introduction into the working world. I joined SenSat because they met all of these criteria and more.

What has been your favourite memory at SenSat?

Those two weeks I spent in the Bahamas flying drones and living out my Bahamian dream. Though it isn’t technically a memory at the SenSat office, this amazing opportunity wouldn’t have happened without SenSat.
